To elevate the flavor of your grilled turkey skewers, it is crucial to allow adequate marination time. A minimum of 30 minutes is recommended; however, for the best results, marinate the turkey for 2 to 4 hours. If time permits, an overnight marination can profoundly enhance the taste. The turkey will absorb the flavors from the marinade, resulting in juicy, flavorful skewers that are anything but bland. Additionally, marination helps to tenderize the meat, making it more succulent and enjoyable.

Ingredients

For the Turkey Skewers:

1 lb turkey breast, cut into 1-inch cubes

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Skewers (wooden or metal)

For the Peach Salsa:

2 ripe peaches, diced

1/2 red onion, finely chopped

1 small jalapeño, seeds removed and minced

1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

Juice of 1 lime

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Marinate the Turkey: In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, ground cumin, salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Add the turkey cubes and toss until evenly coated. Cover and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.

Prepare the Peach Salsa: In a separate bowl, mix the diced peaches, red onion, minced jalapeño, cilantro, and lime juice. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Set aside to let the flavors meld while you grill the skewers.

Preheat the Grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. If you're using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 15 minutes to prevent burning.

Assemble the Skewers: Thread the marinated turkey cubes onto the skewers, leaving a little space between each piece for even cooking.

Grill the Turkey Skewers: Place the skewers on the preheated grill. Grill for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the turkey is cooked through and has nice grill marks. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).

Serve: Once cooked, remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a couple of minutes. Serve warm, topped with a generous amount of the peach salsa.

Enjoy!: Serve the Turkey Skewers with Peach Salsa alongside your favorite sides, like rice, quinoa, or a fresh green salad.
