Ingredients

1 pound ground beef or ground turkey

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup finely chopped onion

1 clove garlic, minced

1 large egg

1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (basil, oregano, thyme)

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 cup barbecue sauce

1/2 cup grape jelly

1 tablespoon soy sauce

Fresh parsley or green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Mix Meatball Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef or turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, Italian herbs, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

Form Meatballs: Using your hands, form the mixture into meatballs about 1-1.5 inches in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet or plate as you go.

Prepare Sauce: In another bowl, whisk together the barbecue sauce, grape jelly, and soy sauce until fully combined. This will create the sweet and savory glaze for your meatballs.

Add to Crockpot: Pour a small amount of the sauce mixture into the bottom of the crockpot, just enough to lightly coat the bottom. Then, place the meatballs in a single layer in the crockpot.

Pour Sauce Over Meatballs: Once all the meatballs are in, pour the remaining sauce mixture over the top, making sure to cover them evenly.

Cook: Cover the crockpot with the lid, and set it to low heat. Cook for 6 to 8 hours, or on high for 3 to 4 hours, until the meatballs are fully cooked and tender.

Serve: Once done, give the meatballs a gentle stir to coat them in the sauce. Serve warm, garnished with fresh parsley or green onions if desired. Enjoy with toothpicks for an appetizer or over rice, noodles, or with crusty bread for a complete meal!
