Ingredients

For the crust:

2 cups crushed pretzels

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

For the cream cheese layer:

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

1 cup whipped topping (like Cool Whip)

For the strawberry layer:

6 oz strawberry gelatin (Jell-O)

2 cups boiling water

2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced

1 cup cold water

Instructions

Prepare the Crust:

    - Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

      - In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed pretzels, granulated sugar, and melted butter until well mixed.

        - Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish.

          - Bake for about 10 minutes, then allow it to cool completely.

            Make the Cream Cheese Layer:

              - In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth.

                - Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing until well combined.

                  - Gently fold in the whipped topping until no streaks remain.

                    - Spread this mixture evenly over the cooled pretzel crust.

                      Prepare the Strawberry Layer:

                        - In a separate bowl, dissolve the strawberry gelatin in 2 cups of boiling water, stirring well until fully dissolved.

                          - Add 1 cup of cold water to the gelatin mixture and stir to combine.

                            - Allow the mixture to sit for about 15 minutes to slightly thicken.

                              - Fold in the sliced strawberries.

                                Combine the Layers:

                                  - Once the strawberry gelatin layer has cooled adequately (but not set), pour it over the cream cheese layer in the baking dish, ensuring even coverage.

                                    - Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until the gelatin is fully set.

                                      Serve:

                                        - Cut into squares and serve chilled. Enjoy the combination of textures and flavors!
