Ingredients

1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cooked and shredded

1 cup frozen spinach, thawed and drained

1 cup artichoke hearts, chopped (canned or frozen)

1 cup cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup sour cream

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp black pepper

1 tsp salt

1 package (2 sheets) of puff pastry, thawed

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, thawed spinach, chopped artichokes, cream cheese, sour cream, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix thoroughly until the filling is well combined and creamy.

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Prepare the Puff Pastry: Roll out one sheet of puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Cut it into 4 equal rectangles. Repeat with the second sheet of pastry, resulting in a total of 8 rectangles.

Assemble the Twists: Place about 2-3 tablespoons of the spinach and artichoke filling in the center of each pastry rectangle. Fold the edges over the filling and pinch to seal, or twist the pastry over the filling for a more decorative look. You can also cut slits on opposite sides of the pastry to create braids if desired.

Apply Egg Wash: Place the twists on the prepared baking sheet. Brush each twist with the beaten egg to give it a beautiful golden color when baked.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.

Serve: Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Enjoy: Serve warm as a delightful appetizer or main dish alongside a side salad!
