Ingredients

For the Meatballs:

1 lb ground turkey

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably whole wheat)

1/4 cup feta cheese, crumbled

1/4 cup parsley, finely chopped

1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp dried oregano

1 tsp dried dill

1/2 tsp ground cumin

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

1 large egg

For the Tzatziki Sauce:

1 cup Greek yogurt

1/2 cucumber, grated and excess moisture squeezed out

1 clove garlic, minced

1 tbsp olive oil

1 tbsp lemon juice

1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped

1/2 tsp salt

Fresh black pepper to taste

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare Meatball Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, feta cheese, parsley, red onion, garlic, oregano, dill, cumin, salt, pepper, and the egg. Mix gently until all ingredients are well combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

Shape Meatballs: Using your hands, shape the mixture into meatballs about 1.5 inches in diameter. Place them evenly on the prepared baking sheet.

Bake: Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are cooked through and lightly browned. An internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) ensures they are safe to eat.

Make Tzatziki Sauce: While the meatballs are baking, prepare the tzatziki by mixing the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, dill, salt, and black pepper in a medium bowl. Adjust seasoning to taste, then refrigerate until serving.

Serve: Once the meatballs are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly. Serve hot with a dollop of tzatziki sauce on the side. This dish pairs wonderfully with pita bread or a fresh Greek salad.
