Ingredients

1 French baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch pieces

3 ripe pears, cored and sliced

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Salt and black pepper, to taste

8 oz goat cheese, softened

1/4 cup honey

Fresh thyme or rosemary, for garnish

Optional: A handful of walnuts, chopped

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Prepare the Pears: On a baking sheet, toss the sliced pears with olive oil, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Spread them out in a single layer.

Roast the Pears: Roast the pears in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until they are tender and caramelized, flipping halfway through.

Toast the Baguette: While the pears roast, arrange the baguette slices on another baking sheet. Lightly brush each slice with olive oil. Toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden and crisp.

Assemble the Crostini: Spread a generous layer of goat cheese on each toasted baguette slice. Top with roasted pears, drizzle with honey, and sprinkle with fresh herbs and chopped walnuts if using.

Serve: Arrange the crostini on a serving platter and enjoy them warm or at room temperature.
