Ingredients

2 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)

1/4 cup teriyaki sauce

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 cups broccoli florets

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

1 green onion, sliced (optional, for garnish)

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Marinate the Salmon: In a shallow dish, combine teriyaki sauce, grated ginger, and minced garlic. Place the salmon fillets in the marinade, turning to coat. Let them marinate for about 15 minutes.

Preheat the Pan: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.

Cook the Salmon: Remove the salmon from the marinade (reserve the marinade) and season with salt and pepper. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the hot skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes until the salmon is golden brown. Gently flip the fillets and add the reserved marinade to the skillet. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, basting the salmon with the sauce until it’s cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

Steam the Broccoli: While the salmon is cooking, bring a small pot of water to a boil. Place a steamer basket over the boiling water and add the broccoli florets. Cover and steam for about 5-7 minutes, or until vibrant green and tender but still crisp.

Finish and Serve: Drizzle sesame oil over the steamed broccoli and toss lightly. Plate the salmon alongside the steamed broccoli and drizzle any remaining teriyaki sauce from the skillet over the top. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onion if desired.
