Ingredients

2 lbs pork shoulder (also known as pork butt)

1 tablespoon smoked paprika

1 tablespoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon onion powder

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust for spice preference)

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup BBQ sauce (choose your favorite brand or homemade)

1 cup beef broth or chicken broth

8 slider buns

Optional toppings: coleslaw, pickles, sliced jalapeños

Instructions

Prepare the Pork: Trim excess fat from the pork shoulder and cut it into large chunks to fit into your slow cooker.

Seasoning Mix: In a small bowl, combine smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, black pepper, and salt. Rub this spice mix all over the pork chunks, making sure to coat evenly.

Slow Cooking: Place the seasoned pork into the slow cooker. Pour the BBQ sauce over the top, then add the beef broth. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours until the pork is tender and easily shredded.

Shred the Pork: Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and place it on a cutting board. Use two forks to shred the meat into bite-sized pieces. Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and mix it with the remaining sauce to enhance the flavor.

Prepare the Sliders: While the pork is cooking, you can toast the slider buns. Simply preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and place the buns cut-side up on a baking sheet. Bake for about 5-7 minutes until lightly toasted.

Assemble the Sliders: Scoop a generous amount of the pulled pork mixture onto the bottom half of each slider bun. If desired, top with coleslaw, pickles, or jalapeños for added crunch and flavor.

Serve: Place the top half of the slider bun over the pork. Serve immediately while warm, and enjoy these tasty, smoky, and sweet BBQ pulled pork sliders!
