Ingredients

1 pre-made pie crust (9-inch)

6 large eggs

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese

1 cup diced cooked bacon

1/2 cup diced yellow onion

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Salt and black pepper to taste

Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the crust: Place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish. Prick the bottom with a fork to prevent bubbling. Pre-bake the crust for about 10 minutes, until lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly.

Sauté the onions: In a skillet over medium heat, add a drizzle of olive oil. Sauté the diced yellow onion until translucent and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.

Mix the filling: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and heavy cream until well combined. Stir in the shredded Gruyère cheese, cooked bacon, sautéed onions, nutmeg, salt, and black pepper. Mix until evenly distributed.

Assemble the quiche: Pour the egg mixture into the pre-baked pie crust, spreading it evenly.

Bake: Carefully place the quiche in the preheated oven. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the top is golden and the center is set (a knife inserted should come out clean).

Cool and garnish: Once done, remove the quiche from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Serve: Slice the quiche into wedges and serve warm or at room temperature. Enjoy your Quiche Lorraine Delight!
