Ingredients

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

3 tablespoons olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)

Salt and black pepper, to taste

Juice of 1 lemon

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

Prepare the Shrimp: Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. This will help them crisp up nicely in the pan.

Season: In a bowl, toss the shrimp with smoked paprika, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated. Let it sit for about 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Heat the Pan: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat until the butter is fully melted and bubbly.

Cook the Shrimp: Add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes without moving them, until the bottoms are golden brown. Flip the shrimp and cook for another 1-2 minutes, or until fully cooked and opaque.

Add Garlic: Reduce the heat to medium, and push the shrimp to one side of the pan. In the empty side, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and the minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

Combine: Stir the shrimp with the garlic butter mixture, making sure each shrimp is coated well. Squeeze the juice of one lemon over the shrimp and toss in the chopped parsley.

Serve: Remove from heat, transfer the shrimp to a serving plate. Serve warm with lemon wedges on the side for added brightness.
