2 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)

1 cup uncooked rice (white or brown)

2 ½ cups beef broth

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup cream of mushroom soup (canned or homemade)

1 medium onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

    Cook the Beef: In a large, oven-safe skillet or Dutch oven, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion becomes translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Add the lean ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Drain any excess fat if necessary.

      Combine Ingredients: Once the beef is browned, stir in the uncooked rice, beef broth, cream of mushroom soup, broccoli florets, Italian seasoning, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix everything thoroughly and bring it to a gentle simmer.

        Add Cheese: Once the mixture is simmering, sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar cheese over the top. Stir to combine, then spread the mixture evenly in the skillet.
