Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

2 cups fresh broccoli florets

1 medium onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup uncooked rice (white or brown)

3 cups beef broth

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tablespoon olive oil

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook the beef: In a large oven-safe skillet or pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.

Brown the ground beef: Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Season the mixture: Stir in the soy sauce, garlic powder, paprika, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix well to combine all the flavors.

Add rice and liquids: Pour in the uncooked rice and beef broth. Stir well and bring the mixture to a simmer. Allow it to cook for about 5 minutes, allowing the rice to absorb some of the liquid.

Incorporate broccoli: Fold in the fresh broccoli florets until evenly distributed throughout the mixture.

Cheese it up: Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar cheese on top of the beef and broccoli mixture.

Bake it: Cover the pan with a lid or aluminum foil and place it in the preheated oven. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the rice is cooked and the broccoli is tender.

Add the final touch: Remove the pan from the oven, uncover, and sprinkle the remaining cheese on top. Return to the oven (uncovered) for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Serve: Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving. Enjoy your delicious one-pan cheesy beef and broccoli bake straight from the oven!
