2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup rolled oats

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup Nutella (or any chocolate hazelnut spread)

1/2 cup chopped hazelnuts (optional)

1/4 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

    Make the Crumb Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix until well combined.

      Add Wet Ingredients: Pour in the melted butter and vanilla extract. Stir the mixture with a spatula or your hands until it resembles coarse crumbs.

        Press the Base: Reserve 1 cup of the crumb mixture for the topping, and then press the remaining mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan to form a solid base layer.

          Spread the Nutella: Gently warm the Nutella in the microwave for about 15-20 seconds to make it easier to spread. Spoon the melted Nutella evenly over the crumb base, ensuring a uniform layer.

            Add Hazelnuts and Chocolate Chips: If using, sprinkle the chopped hazelnuts and chocolate chips evenly over the Nutella layer for added crunch and flavor.

              Top with Remaining Crumbs: Crumble the reserved crumb mixture over the Nutella layer, covering it completely.
