Ingredients

1 pound ground beef (80/20 for best flavor)

1/2 pound ground pork

1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably homemade or panko for extra crunch)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

1 large egg

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 cup BBQ sauce (homemade or store-bought, your choice)

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Optional: 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (for a kick)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Mix Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, garlic, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using). Mix gently with your hands until just combined. Avoid over-mixing to keep the meatballs tender.

Shape Meatballs: Using your hands, form the mixture into meatballs about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper about an inch apart.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until browned and cooked through, reaching an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C).

Prepare BBQ Glaze: While the meatballs are baking, in a small saucepan, combine the BBQ sauce, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce. Heat over medium-low until warmed through and well combined.

Coat Meatballs: Once baked, remove the meatballs from the oven and gently toss them in the BBQ glaze until fully coated. For an extra layer of flavor, return them to the oven for an additional 5 minutes.

Serve: Transfer the meatballs to a serving platter. Drizzle any remaining BBQ glaze over the top. Serve hot with toothpicks for an easy appetizer or over a bed of rice or in a sub for a hearty meal!
