Ingredients

For the Burger:

1 lb ground beef (80/20 for juiciness)

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

4 large pepperoni slices

½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese

For the Toppings:

1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms

1 tbsp olive oil

¼ cup pizza sauce (plus more for topping)

4 hamburger buns

¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Fresh basil leaves (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Mushrooms: In a skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the sliced mushrooms. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes, until they are golden brown and their moisture has evaporated. Season with a pinch of salt and set aside.

Make the Burger Patties: In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined. Divide the mixture into four equal parts and shape them into patties.

Cook the Burgers: Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook each burger patty for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and add the mozzarella cheese and pepperoni on top. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the burger is cooked to your preferred doneness.

Assemble the Burgers: Toast the hamburger buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster. Spread a tablespoon of pizza sauce on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the cooked burger patty. Top each burger with sautéed mushrooms, a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese, and more pizza sauce if desired.

Garnish and Serve: Add fresh basil leaves for a burst of flavor and place the top half of the bun on each burger. Serve immediately with your favorite side dishes!
