2 large whole wheat pitas

1 cup cooked chicken breast, shredded

1/2 cup marinara sauce

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (oregano, basil, thyme)

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

    Prepare the chicken mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, marinara sauce, dried Italian herbs, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.

      Cut the pitas: Using a sharp knife, carefully slice each pita bread in half to create two circles. Gently open each half to form a pocket.

        Stuff the pitas: Fill each pita pocket with an even amount of the chicken mixture. Be generous, but don’t overstuff; you want them to close comfortably.

          Add cheese: Sprinkle a layer of shredded mozzarella cheese into each stuffed pita. Then, top with a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese for extra flavor.
