Ingredients

1 lb (450g) beef sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 tablespoon sesame oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon ginger, grated

1 tablespoon Gochujang (Korean chili paste)

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 tablespoon sesame seeds

2 green onions, finely chopped

1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for grilling)

Skewers (soaked in water for 30 minutes if wooden)

Instructions

Marinate the Beef: In a mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, Gochujang, and rice vinegar until well combined.

Combine Ingredients: Add the thinly sliced beef to the marinade and stir to coat all pieces evenly. Allow to marinate for at least 30 minutes to 2 hours (refrigerated for best results).

Prepare the Skewers: Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Thread the marinated beef pieces onto the skewers, leaving a little space between each piece for even cooking.

Grill the Skewers: Lightly brush the grill with vegetable oil. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until the beef is seared and cooked through, basting with extra marinade as desired.

Garnish: Once cooked, remove the skewers from the grill and sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions for added flavor and presentation.

Serve: Serve the skewers hot with a side of rice, kimchi, or a fresh salad. Enjoy the rich flavors of Korean BBQ!
