Ingredients

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter

2 cups granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

4 large eggs

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup white chocolate chips (for ghost frosting)

2 tablespoons heavy cream

Candy eyes (for decorating)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Melt the Butter: In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the granulated sugar and vanilla extract until well combined.

Whisk in Eggs: Add the eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition until the mixture is smooth and glossy.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.

Add Chocolate Chips: Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips to the brownie batter.

Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Do not overbake.

Cool Brownies: Remove the brownies from the oven and allow them to cool in the pan for at least 20 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Prepare Ghost Frosting: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate chips with the heavy cream, stirring every 15 seconds until smooth and creamy. Let it cool slightly.

Frost the Brownies: Once the brownies are completely cooled, spread a layer of the white chocolate frosting over the top.

Decorate Ghosts: Using the melted white chocolate, spoon or pipe ghost shapes on top of the frosting. Aim for a rounded top with a floppy bottom.

Add Eyes: While the frosting is still soft, place candy eyes on each ghost to bring them to life.

Set and Slice: Allow the decorated brownies to set for about 30 minutes before slicing them into squares.
