Ingredients

8 slices of sourdough bread

6 oz prosciutto, thinly sliced

6 oz salami, thinly sliced

6 oz aged cheddar cheese, sliced

6 oz brie cheese, sliced

½ cup fig jam

¼ cup whole grain mustard

1 cup arugula

2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Prepare the Bread: Start by buttering one side of each slice of sourdough bread. This will give your sandwich a delicious, crispy exterior once grilled.

Layer the Ingredients: On the unbuttered side of half of the slices, spread a thin layer of fig jam. On top of the jam, layer slices of prosciutto, salami, cheddar cheese, brie cheese, and a handful of arugula. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper for added flavor.

Top It Off: Spread a layer of whole grain mustard on the unbuttered side of the remaining slices of bread. Place these slices mustard-side down on the assembled sandwiches to form a complete sandwich.

Grill the Sandwiches: Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium heat. Place the sandwiches in the pan, buttered side down. Grill for about 3-4 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese has begun to melt.

Flip and Grill: Carefully flip the sandwiches and grill the other side for another 3-4 minutes, ensuring an even golden color and melty cheese.

Slice and Serve: Once both sides are grilled to perfection, remove the sandwiches from the pan. Let them sit for a minute, then slice them diagonally for that perfect presentation. Serve warm with a side of extra fig jam or mustard for dipping.
