The foundation of any great brownie pie begins with properly combined dry ingredients. Start by measuring out the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. It’s crucial to sift these ingredients together into a large mixing bowl. Sifting not only breaks up any lumps but also aerates the dry mix, leading to a lighter texture in your finished fudge brownie pie.

Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, melted

2 cups granulated sugar

4 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)

Optional: Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for serving

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch pie dish with butter or cooking spray and set aside.

Mix Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar. Whisk them together until the mixture is smooth and well-combined.

Add Eggs and Vanilla: Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla extract until everything is uniformly mixed.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. This will ensure there are no lumps in your brownie mixture.

Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.

Fold in Chocolate Chips: Gently fold the chocolate chips into the brownie batter, distributing them evenly.

Prepare for Baking: Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pie dish, spreading it evenly with a spatula.

Bake: Place in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).

Cool: Remove the pie from the oven and allow it to cool in the dish on a wire rack for at least 15 minutes before serving.

Serve: Serve warm with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top for extra decadence.
