Ingredients

2 large ripe bananas

1/2 cup almond milk (or any milk of choice)

1/4 cup chia seeds

1/2 cup dark chocolate chips (or cocoa nibs for a healthier option)

2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (adjust for sweetness)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Pinch of sea salt

Optional toppings: crushed nuts, shredded coconut, or hemp seeds

Instructions

Prepare the Bananas: Peel the ripe bananas and slice them into 1/2-inch thick rounds. Arrange them on a parchment-lined baking sheet, ensuring they do not touch each other.

Make the Chia Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine almond milk, chia seeds, honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract, and a pinch of sea salt. Whisk well until the mixture is smooth and well combined. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes to allow the chia seeds to absorb the liquid and thicken up.

Coat the Banana Rounds: Take each banana round and dip it into the chia mixture to fully coat one side, then place it back on the parchment. Repeat for all the banana rounds.

Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, heat the dark chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval until melted and smooth. If you’re using cocoa nibs, skip this step.

Drizzle the Chocolate: Using a spoon or a piping bag, drizzle the melted chocolate over each chia-coated banana round. For added flair, customize your toppings by sprinkling crushed nuts, shredded coconut, or hemp seeds on top before the chocolate sets.

Freeze: Place the baking sheet in the freezer for at least 2 hours or until the banana rounds have fully frozen.

Serve: Once frozen, carefully peel the rounds off the parchment and enjoy immediately, or store them in an airtight container in the freezer for up to a month.
