Ingredients

8 large eggs

1 cup whole milk

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 cup diced cooked ham or crumbled cooked sausage (optional)

1/4 cup chopped fresh chives or green onions

2 cups refrigerated biscuit dough (or homemade if preferred)

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Extra cheese for topping (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with nonstick spray or butter.

Prepare the Egg Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, crack the eggs and whisk them together. Add the whole milk, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and whisk until fully combined and slightly frothy.

Mix in the Add-ins: Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese, diced ham or sausage (if using), and chives or green onions. Set aside.

Prepare the Biscuit Dough: Cut the refrigerated biscuit dough into quarters and place them evenly at the bottom of the prepared baking dish. They should be spread out but not too crowded, as they'll expand when baking.

Egg Mixture on Top: Carefully pour the scrambled egg mixture over the biscuit pieces, ensuring all the biscuits are covered. Gently press down on the biscuits if needed.

Butter and Cheese Topping: Drizzle melted butter over the top of the egg and biscuit mixture for added richness. If desired, sprinkle extra shredded cheese on top for an extra cheesy finish.

Bake the Dish: Place in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the biscuits are golden brown. A toothpick inserted in the center should come out clean.

Cool and Serve: Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool for 5-10 minutes. Cut into squares and serve warm, garnishing with additional chives or herbs if desired.
