Ingredients

1 (16 oz) package refrigerated pizza dough

1 cup marinara sauce (for filling and dipping)

8 oz sliced pepperoni

8 oz shredded mozzarella cheese

1 small green bell pepper, diced

1 small red onion, thinly sliced

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Fresh basil leaves (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.

Prepare Dough: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a large rectangle, about 14x10 inches, ensuring an even thickness.

Add Marinara: Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.

Layer the Fillings: On top of the sauce, arrange pepperoni slices evenly over the dough. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese, diced green bell pepper, and red onion. Add the Italian seasoning and garlic powder for extra flavor.

Roll It Up: Starting from one of the long edges, carefully roll the dough away from you into a tight log, tucking in the edges as you go to seal the fillings inside.

Seal the Edges: Pinch and roll the ends of the Stromboli to seal. Place it seam-side down on your prepared baking sheet.

Brush and Score: Brush the top of the Stromboli with the beaten egg to achieve a golden color. If desired, use a sharp knife to make 3-4 diagonal slits on top to allow steam to escape.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the Stromboli is golden brown and the cheese is melted.

Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and let it cool for about 5 minutes. Slice into thick pieces and serve with warm marinara sauce on the side for dipping. Garnish with fresh basil if desired.
