Ingredients

8 oz fettuccine pasta

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 tablespoons olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tablespoon unsalted butter

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.

Sauté the Shrimp: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the shrimp and season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they turn pink and opaque. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Make the Alfredo Sauce: In the same skillet, reduce the heat to low and add the butter. Immediately add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream, stirring constantly. Bring to a gentle simmer.

Add Cheese: Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until smooth and creamy. If the sauce is too thick, add some reserved pasta water, a little at a time, until desired consistency is reached. Season with additional salt and pepper if needed.

Combine: Add the cooked fettuccine and sautéed shrimp back into the skillet. Toss gently to coat the pasta and shrimp with the creamy Alfredo sauce. If desired, add more pasta water to keep the dish creamy.

Serve: Plate the creamy shrimp Alfredo pasta and garnish with chopped fresh parsley and a sprinkle of red pepper flakes for a hint of spice. Enjoy your delightful meal!
