Ingredients

12 oz fettuccine pasta

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, adjust to taste)

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and black pepper to taste

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.

Sauté the Shrimp: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the shrimp and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they turn pink and opaque. Season with salt and black pepper. Once cooked, transfer the shrimp to a plate and set aside.

Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and the minced garlic. Sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Add the red pepper flakes, if using. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.

Add Cheese and Season: Stir in the Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning. Let the sauce simmer for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly. If the sauce is too thick, gradually add reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.

Combine: Add the cooked fettuccine and shrimp to the sauce, tossing gently to coat the pasta and shrimp evenly. Stir in the fresh lemon juice and adjust seasoning with salt and black pepper if needed.

Garnish and Serve: Divide the creamy garlic shrimp fettuccine among plates. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley. Enjoy your delicious meal!
