Ingredients

1 cup orzo pasta

2 tablespoons olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cups vegetable broth (or chicken broth)

1 cup heavy cream

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Cook the Orzo: In a medium saucepan, bring salted water to a boil. Add the orzo and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.

Sauté Aromatics: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently to avoid burning.

Make the Sauce: Pour in the vegetable (or chicken) broth, stirring to combine. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for about 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

Add Cream and Seasoning: Reduce heat to low and slowly stir in the heavy cream, mixing well. Add the grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy.

Combine Orzo and Sauce: Add the cooked orzo to the skillet, gently tossing to coat the pasta thoroughly with the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.

Garnish and Serve: Remove the skillet from the heat. Serve the creamy garlic Parmesan orzo in bowls, garnished with fresh parsley. Enjoy warm!
