Ingredients

4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)

Salt and black pepper to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

6 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Juice of 1 lemon

1 teaspoon dried thyme (or 1 tablespoon fresh thyme)

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Lemon slices (for garnish)

Instructions

Prep the Salmon: Start by patting the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.

Sear the Salmon: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Carefully place the salmon fillets in the skillet, skin-side down. Cook for about 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy and golden. Flip and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes on the other side. Remove the salmon from the skillet and set aside on a plate.

Make the Garlic Butter Sauce: In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium. Add the unsalted butter and let it melt. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant but not browned.

Add the Cream and Cheese: Pour in the heavy cream and stir well to combine. Let it simmer for about 2-3 minutes until it starts to thicken. Then, add the grated Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and smooth.

Season the Sauce: Mix in the lemon juice and dried thyme. Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning with more salt and black pepper if needed.

Return Salmon to the Skillet: Gently place the cooked salmon fillets back into the skillet, spooning some of the creamy garlic sauce over each piece. Let the salmon simmer in the sauce for another 2-3 minutes to soak up the flavors.

Serve: Remove from heat and garnish with chopped parsley and lemon slices. Serve the salmon hot, drizzled with extra creamy garlic butter sauce.
