1 lb (450g) ground beef

1 medium onion, diced

3 cloves garlic, minced

8 oz (225g) mushrooms, sliced

1 cup beef broth

1 cup sour cream

2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp Dijon mustard

1 tsp dried thyme

Salt and pepper, to taste

12 oz (340g) egg noodles

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup frozen peas (optional)

Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

    Brown the Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.

      Sauté Vegetables: Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until the onion becomes translucent, about 3-5 minutes. Stir in the sliced mushrooms and cook until they begin to soften.

        Make the Sauce: In a separate bowl, combine the beef broth, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

          Cook Egg Noodles: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and cook the egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

            Combine Ingredients: In the skillet with the beef and vegetable mixture, add the cooked egg noodles and the sauce. If using, stir in the frozen peas. Mix everything together until well combined.

              Assemble the Casserole: Transfer the beef and noodle mixture into a greased 9x13 inch casserole dish. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.

                Bake: Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

                  Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving warm.
