For the Bars:

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup buttermilk

For the Cinnamon Swirl:

1/4 cup brown sugar, packed

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

For the Cream Cheese Frosting:

4 oz cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 tablespoons milk (adjust for desired consistency)

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9x13 inch baking dish with parchment paper.

    Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.

      Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, mix melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and buttermilk until smooth.

        Combine Wet & Dry: Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix; small lumps are okay.

          Prepare the Cinnamon Swirl: In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and softened butter until it forms a spreadable paste.

            Layer the Batter: Spread half of the batter into the prepared baking dish using a spatula, creating an even layer.

              Add Cinnamon Swirl: Spoon the cinnamon swirl mixture over the batter, and use a knife to create a marbled effect by gently swirling the mixture into the batter.

                Top with Remaining Batter: Pour the remaining batter over the cinnamon swirl layer and use the spatula to even it out.

                  Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
