Ingredients

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent dough

1/4 cup sugar

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

A pinch of salt

Optional: 1/4 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)

Optional: Glaze (1 cup powdered sugar + 2-3 tablespoons milk)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Cinnamon Sugar Mixture: In a small bowl, mix the sugar and ground cinnamon together until well combined. Set aside.

Prepare the Crescent Dough: Unroll the crescent dough onto a clean work surface. Arrange the triangles side by side, pressing the perforations to seal them, forming a large rectangle.

Add Flavors: Brush the melted butter evenly over the dough rectangle. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly on top, ensuring to cover the entire surface. If using nuts, sprinkle them over the cinnamon sugar for added texture and flavor.

Cut and Twist: Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, slice the dough into strips about 1 inch wide. Starting from one end, twist each strip a few times and then place them on the prepared baking sheet.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the twists are golden brown and cooked through.

Optional Glaze: While the twists are baking, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk in a bowl until smooth. Adjust the milk quantity for desired consistency.

Cool and Drizzle: Once baked, remove the cinnamon twists from the oven and let them cool slightly on the baking sheet. Drizzle the glaze over the warm twists before serving.

Serve: Enjoy your Cinnamon Crescent Twists warm as a delightful breakfast treat or an afternoon snack!
