Ingredients

6 large buttery croissants, cut into bite-sized pieces

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

4 large eggs

1 cup milk (whole or almond)

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

A pinch of salt

Optional: Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Prepare the Baking Dish: Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.

Layer the Croissants: In the prepared baking dish, evenly distribute the bite-sized croissant pieces. Sprinkle the semi-sweet chocolate chips over the croissant pieces, making sure they are evenly spread out.

Make the Custard Mixture: In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until fully combined and smooth.

Combine: Pour the custard mixture evenly over the croissant and chocolate layer, ensuring that all pieces are soaked. Gently press down on the croissants with a spatula to help them absorb the mixture.

Rest Time: Allow the mixture to sit for about 15 minutes, letting the croissants absorb the custard.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cool Before Serving: Once baked, take the dish out of the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes. If desired, dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Serve & Enjoy: Cut into squares and serve warm. This bake pairs wonderfully with fresh fruit or a dollop of whipped cream.
