Ingredients

4 large russet potatoes, thinly sliced

6 strips of bacon, cooked and crumbled

2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

1 cup sour cream

1 cup milk

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

1/4 cup green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the Dish: Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.

Layer the Potatoes: Begin layering half of the sliced potatoes in the bottom of the prepared dish. Make sure the slices are slightly overlapping.

Season and Add Flavors: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the sour cream, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix until smooth.

Add Bacon and Cheese: Pour half of the sour cream mixture over the first layer of potatoes, then sprinkle half of the crumbled bacon and half of the cheddar cheese on top.

Repeat the Layers: Add another layer of the remaining potato slices. Pour the rest of the sour cream mixture over the top, followed by the remaining bacon and cheese.

Cover and Bake: Cover the dish with aluminum foil (to prevent over-browning) and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes. After 45 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Garnish and Serve: Once done, let the casserole cool for about 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped green onions for a fresh finish.
