Ingredients

1 cup pecans, chopped

1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup heavy cream

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon sea salt

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

Toast the Pecans: In a dry skillet over medium heat, add the chopped pecans. Toast for about 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently, until they are golden brown and fragrant. Remove from heat and set aside.

Melt the Butter: In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Be careful not to let it brown.

Add Sugar and Cream: Once the butter is melted, stir in the brown sugar and heavy cream. Mix well until the sugar is fully dissolved and the sauce is smooth.

Incorporate Flavorings: Stir in the vanilla extract, sea salt, and ground cinnamon (if using). Keep the mixture on low heat, allowing it to simmer gently for about 2-3 minutes to thicken slightly.

Combine with Pecans: Add the toasted pecans to the sauce and stir well to combine. Allow it to simmer for another minute.

Cool and Serve: Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the butter pecan sauce cool slightly before serving. It can be poured over ice cream, pancakes, waffles, or desserts of your choice.
