Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup bread flour

1/4 cup granulated sugar

2 teaspoons instant yeast

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup whole milk, warmed (110°F)

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries

1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)

For the Cream Cheese Icing:

4 oz cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1-2 tablespoons milk (to achieve desired consistency)

Instructions

Prep the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, bread flour, sugar, instant yeast, and salt. Mix well. In a separate bowl, whisk together the warmed milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Gradually incorporate the wet ingredients into the dry mixture, stirring until a soft dough forms.

Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let rise in a warm area until it doubles in size (about 1 hour).

Prepare the Filling: If using frozen blueberries, toss them in a bowl with cornstarch to help thicken any juices. This step can be skipped if using fresh blueberries. Set aside.

Roll the Dough: Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick. Spread the blueberries evenly across the dough.

Form the Rolls: Starting from the long side, tightly roll the dough into a log. Pinch the seams to seal. Cut the log into 12 equal pieces and place them cut-side up in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.

Second Rise: Cover the rolls with a kitchen towel and allow them to rise in a warm place for another 30-40 minutes until puffy.

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Bake the Rolls: Bake the sweet rolls in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown on top and cooked through.

Make the Cream Cheese Icing: In a mixing bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla, mixing until well combined. Add milk as needed to reach your desired icing consistency.

Top the Rolls: Once the rolls are baked, remove them from the oven and allow to cool for about 5 minutes before drizzling the cream cheese icing over the top.

Serve: Enjoy your scrumptious Blueberry Bliss Sweet Rolls warm or at room temperature!
