Ingredients

2 cups of vanilla pudding mix

4 cups of milk

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

8 ounces of cream cheese, softened

1 cup of powdered sugar

1 container (8 ounces) of whipped topping, thawed

1 package (11 ounces) of Nilla wafers

4 ripe bananas, sliced

1 cup of mini chocolate chips (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Pudding: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the vanilla pudding mix and milk. Continue whisking for 2 minutes until the pudding thickens. Stir in the vanilla extract, then set aside to cool.

Cream Cheese Mixture: In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add in the powdered sugar, mixing until creamy and well combined. Gently fold in the thawed whipped topping until no streaks remain.

Layer the Ingredients: Start by placing a layer of Nilla wafers at the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. You can troubleshoot any gaps by breaking some wafers to fill in.

First Layer: Spread half of the cream cheese mixture over the Nilla wafers. Then, layer sliced bananas evenly over the cream cheese mixture.

Pudding Layer: Pour half of the prepared vanilla pudding over the bananas, gently smoothing it out with a spatula.

Repeat Layers: Add another layer of Nilla wafers on top of the pudding. Follow this by the remaining cream cheese mixture, another layer of bananas, and finally, pour the remaining vanilla pudding on top.

Chill: Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or, preferably, overnight. This will help set the layers and enhance the flavors.

Serve and Garnish: When ready to serve, remove from the fridge and, if desired, garnish the top with mini chocolate chips for a delightful touch. Use a sharp knife to slice into squares and serve chilled.
