1 lb fresh asparagus, trimmed

8 slices of thick-cut bacon

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon paprika

½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

½ teaspoon sea salt

Zest of 1 lemon (optional)

Fresh lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions
 

Prep the Asparagus: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Rinse and trim the ends of the asparagus. They should be about 6-7 inches long.

    Seasoning: In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, black pepper, and sea salt. If using, add the lemon zest for a bright flavor.

      Wrap the Asparagus: Take a bundle of four asparagus spears and drizzle with a bit of the seasoning mixture. Wrap a slice of bacon around the bundle, starting at the bottom and spiraling up to the top. Repeat with remaining asparagus and bacon slices.

        Arrange for Baking: Place the bacon-wrapped bundles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Make sure to leave space between each bundle for even cooking.

          Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the bacon is crispy and the asparagus is tender, turning the bundles halfway through cooking for an even crisp.
