Apple Cinnamon Snack Rolls

2 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled and diced

1 cup brown sugar

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 package (1 lb) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted

1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

1 cup powdered sugar

2 tablespoons milk

Instructions
 

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

    In a medium bowl, combine the diced apples, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Stir until the apples are well coated and set aside to marinate for 10 minutes.

      Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles on a clean work surface. If using, sprinkle a few chopped walnuts on each triangle.

        Scoop a generous tablespoon of the apple mixture onto the wide end of each crescent roll triangle. Roll them up from the wide end to the tip, making sure to tuck in the sides as you roll to seal in the filling.

          Place the rolled snack on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, making sure to leave some space between each roll.

            Brush the tops of the rolls with melted butter and sprinkle a dash of nutmeg for added flavor.

              Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.

                While the rolls are baking, prepare the glaze by whisking together powdered sugar and milk in a small bowl until smooth.

                  Once the rolls are done, let them cool slightly for 5 minutes before drizzling the glaze over the tops.

                    Serve warm and enjoy your delicious apple cinnamon snack rolls!
