Ingredients

4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)

1/2 cup teriyaki sauce

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon honey (optional for extra sweetness)

1 clove garlic, minced

1 teaspoon ginger, grated (fresh or ground)

1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

2 cups broccoli florets

Salt and pepper to taste

Cooked rice or quinoa, for serving (optional)

Instructions

Marinate the Salmon: In a small bowl, mix the teriyaki sauce, honey, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or resealable bag and pour the marinade over them. Let them marinate while you prepare the broccoli (around 5 minutes).

Steam the Broccoli: Fill a pot with about an inch of water and place a steamer basket over it (or use a microwave-safe dish with a lid). Bring the water to a boil, then add the broccoli florets. Cover and steam for about 4-5 minutes, or until bright green and just tender. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.

Cook the Salmon: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated salmon fillets, reserving the marinade. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until the salmon is golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 145°F/63°C).

Glaze the Salmon: In the last minute of cooking, pour the reserved marinade into the skillet. Allow it to bubble and thicken slightly, coating the salmon in a delicious glaze for about a minute.

Serve: Place the teriyaki salmon on a plate, garnish with sesame seeds, and serve alongside the steamed broccoli. If desired, spoon over some cooked rice or quinoa to soak up the extra sauce.
